Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is coming close to happening. Holland has become one of the most beloved stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and after a solid trilogy, the MCU’s Spider-Man 4 will continue the story of Holland’s Peter Parker. Multiple directors have been rumored for the film, and based on a new update, the movement behind the scenes should start to progress soon.
Speaking to io9, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that a script for Spider-Man 4 should be turned in soon. Feige also commented on how he is working on it with Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal, who is one of the biggest driving forces behind the iconic character in live-action. When could Spider-Man 4 Be released?
. It would make more sense for the movie to come out before Avengers 5, as Spider-Man: No Way Home set up a darker, more personal story for Peter Parker that would be the ideal tale.
With a draft coming in soon, the Spider-Man 4 script could be done by the end of the year. That could lead to a 2025 filming start for the MCU movie. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy kept a pretty consistent pattern when it came to movie releases. Every MCU Spider-Man film was released two years after the last, going from 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming to 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home to 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
That trend has long been broken for Spider-Man 4, as the earliest the movie could be released would be next year, which is impossible. The reason is the sequel would need to start filming in the final months of 2024 to make a late 2025 release date. With the MCU’s schedule fully booked for 2025 and no production prep in sight for a 2024 start, the most likely release slot is 2026. Furthermore, there has been no confirmation of which actors will join Holland. However, after Spider-Man: No Way Home’s ending, the franchise could be going through a reboot, bringing in a new cast.
Spider-Man 4 could either be released before Avengers 5 or between it and Avengers: Secret Wars. It would make more sense for the movie to come out before Avengers 5, as Spider-Man: No Way Home set up a darker, more personal story for Peter Parker that would be the ideal tale. Juggling several MCU and likely multiverse characters, Avengers 5 would not be able to focus on Peter Parker the way he needs for his next appearance. As such, Spider-Man 4’s best and earliest possible release date would be in early 2026.
